Strayer — Benjamin Woodard, film and television composer Composer

Benjamin Woodard is a composer whose work lives at the intersection of narrative and emotion. Rooted in the belief that music should function as a programmatic reflection of lived experience — not merely pleasurable sound — his scores carry meaning and substance that speaks directly to an audience.

A recent graduate of the University of Northern Colorado, Benjamin has written for full orchestra, wind ensembles, jazz bands, classical chamber groups, and solo instruments. He studied and was mentored by Ludek Drizhal — Hollywood composer — whose philosophy pushed him to see music not as decoration, but as a primary storytelling force.

His music draws from the tension between stillness and movement — the quiet before a scene breaks open, the weight of a moment that lingers long after the credits roll. Benjamin brings this same attentiveness to every project, whether scoring for picture or the concert stage.
